The Saturdays' Mollie reveals heartbreak over family tragedy

Mollie King, from girl group The Saturdays, spent Christmas in mourning for her godmother who tragically died after losing her battle with breast cancer in the weeks leading up to the festive season.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 'All Fired Up' beauty explained that the death came as such a shock and really put into perspective how short and unpredictable life can be:

"It's been a really difficult time because she was my mum's best friend and I've known her all my life. I was also really close to her children. It is one of those things that was such a horrible experience for the whole family and will change everybody's lives."

"It's my biggest fear that someone close to me like my mum or dad should get ill. Especially over Christmas when you're a lot more conscious of your family. This year was really sad in some ways because we missed her and the end of the year is the time for reflection."

"It's not like it's even an old person's disease - my godmother was the same age as my parents, which was scary."
