Healy is quoted by The Sun as saying that she was a successful swimmer back in the day, but that she was eventually swept away by music as she grew older.

She ultimately became a shining light in The Saturdays - but it could have been so different. She said:

"I was an all-Ireland champion when I was a child. If I had kept it up maybe I would have been able to swim at London 2012, but I fell in love with music."

Healy meanwhile is set to feature on ITV sports talent show 'Let's Get Gold', which is due to premiere tonight (July 5) in the UK.
