The Saturdays land their first ever UK No.1 single

The Saturdays' 'What About Us' has debuted at No.1 in the Official UK Singles Chart this Sunday (March 24).

The band revealed that scoring a UK No.1 is a career ambition of theirs, and were excited to be the mid-week No.1 last week.

Mollie King opened the BBC Charts' No.1 singles envelope and the band screamed and cried. When asked how it felt, 'to all our fans who have supported us, you have meant the world to us'. They said smudging their make-up was 'worth it', and thanked their parents, TeamSats, their management and their label.

Show host, Jameela Jamil, said that they "so deserved it", as they have been "waiting so long".

The news ended Justin Timberlake's recent reign with 'Mirrors' as he dropped down to No.2. Jamil told The Saturdays she would happily "shaft" him in order to help the girls get to the top spot.
