Shakira's boyfriend stops her from making music videos with male co-stars

Colombian pop star Shakira has made it known that she will no longer be making music videos that feature male actors or models.

In an interview with Billboard Shakira revealed that her boyfriend – footballer Gerard Piqué – does not want her filming videos with male love interests anymore.

Shakira explained: “He's very territorial... Since he no longer lets me do videos with men... I have to do them with women.”

Despite starring opposite Rihanna for the ‘Can’t Remember To Forget You’ video, the ‘She Wolf’ singer still asked her boyfriend for permission to film it.

Speaking about her relationship with Gerard Piqué, Shakira said:

“It's more than implied in our relationship that I can't do videos like I used to. It's out of the question - which I like, by the way. I like that he protects his turf and he values me, in a way that the only person that he would ever let graze my thigh would be Rihanna.”

Shakira is due to release her new self-titled album on March 24.
