Shakira is set to take to the stage with Blake Shelton at the Academy of Country Music Awards this weekend.

The two Voice US coaches will perform the song 'Medicine' at the event on Sunday (April 6) in Las Vegas.

The track features on Shakira's new self-titled album, which was released in March.

The ceremony's executive producer R.A. Clark said the collaboration came from "Shakira's folks reaching out to us, saying we have this opportunity and would you be interested? As producers we're always looking for these moments when we can bring folks together. We think its great for the show".

The Band Perry meanwhile will open the show, whilst Garth Brooks, George Strait and Miranda Lambert will appear as part of tribute to Crystal Award recipient Merle Haggard.
