'Hips Don't Lie' songstress Shakira has described taking up the role of a coach on 'The Voice' as an 'adventure' and a 'journey'.

Access Hollywood reports that she explained that it's an interesting new project because she hasn't done anything similar in the past and said: "I haven't done anything like this before in my life, so it is totally an adventure to me."

"It's just a really nice journey. I'm glad I'm here. I'm really thrilled," Shakira added.

On February 25, the star and new mother tweeted about her excitement over the impending premiere of the new season and wrote:

"One month until the season premiere of @NBCTheVoice!"

Usher, who also joined the panel, also weighed in on the new series said: "Season four is like none other. But, hey, there's a new sheriff in town!"
