Shakira leaves The Voice to concentrate on baby and new album

Shakira says she is leaving The Voice US to focus on her family and her own music career.

The sultry singer became a coach on the reality TV show late last year to replace Christina Aguilera.

However, she told Us Magazine that she will step down from the series in order to focus on her new child Milan, who was born in January.

Shakira added that she will also resume work on the follow-up to her 2012 album 'Sale el Sol'. She said:

"I'm not going to be able to do next season because I have to get back to my motherhood and also get back to the studio, the recording studio, to finish my album, the one that I started working on before I had to deliver a baby and before I took this gig with The Voice. So yeah, I have to take a little break. But you never know, I might come back!"

As previously reported, Shakira recently admitted her fear that boyfriend Gerard Pique might not find her attractive post-pregnancy. She said: "Looking at your new image in the mirror...I looked like a Shar-Pei when I first delivered. I was like, 'Oh my God. Am I ever going to be sexy again? Is my man ever going to feel attracted to me again the way he used to be."
