Shayne Ward has confirmed the identity of his next single.

The British singer will release 'The Way You Were' in the UK on June 22.

The track is co-written by Ward and produced by Mike Stock.

Speaking about the song, the former X Factor winner said: "With ‘The Way You Were’, we wanted to do a straight-to-the-heart dance pop record with meaningful lyrics that people can relate to.

"It’s about reminiscing on simpler times in a relationship and this longing to go back to basics.”

'The Way You Were’ will be available to buy in two different digital formats.

The first version will feature a 7th Heaven club mix, whilst the second will include a Love to Infinity remix alongside a stripped-back version of debut hit 'That's My Goal'.

The track meanwhile features on Ward's 2015 album 'Closer'.
