Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward has revealed his disappointment at not being included in the newly unveiled promotional trailers for the popular televised talent contest.

Despite emerging the winner of the second season back in 2005, the 'Breathless' singer doesn't feature in the videos produced to advertise the forthcoming new series of the programme.

While One Direction, Olly Murs and Little Mix star in the adverts, Ward is nowhere to be seen and he took to his official Twitter page earlier today (July 30) to talk about the situation:

"Just seen the new Xfactor promo video. Yet again it's like im being erased slowly from their history.Pathetic really Would love to know why?"

He was met with a fantastic supportive response from his online fans and returned to Twitter later in the day to thank them for their kind words and "nice messages":

"Thank you to everyone who tweeted me nice messages. It just would've been nice to have been acknowledge. It was a big part of my life x"
