Snow Patrol have "already written the next album"

Snow Patrol have revealed that their seventh studio album is already finished, despite having not even released their sixth record yet.

The band will unveil 'Fallen Empires' in November, but their frontman Gary Lightbody told BBC Radio 2 that their next album is complete and will follow on in a linear fashion:

"We've already written the next album. The last track on 'Fallen Empires' is going to be called 'Broken Bottles Form A Star (Prelude)' and that will be the first song on the next album."

Talking specifically about 'Fallen Empires', Lightbody added "it's the longest album we're ever made by far, but also the best. We took our time and I had some bouts of writer's block. It's the first time it's happened for such a long time, I've had days when I haven't been able to write."

"Since 2009 I've gone through three writer's blocks. But I'm glad because the results are great afterwards. They have probably made me write better songs."
