Naz Idelji Named Director Of Sony Music UK Compilations

Sony Music UK today announced Naz Idelji as the new Director of Sony Music UK Compilations. Idelji’s new position also incorporates her role as Head of Ministry of Sound Recordings Compilations. She is appointed with immediate effect and reports to Nicola Tuer, COO, Sony Music UK (both pictured above).

Idelji – who is regarded as one of the music industry’s most dynamic executives - joined Ministry of Sound Recordings in 2013. During her tenure, the label has sold an astonishing ten million compilation albums. In that time, Idelji has also further developed renowned brands, Anthems and The Annual, as well as successfully innovating and launching new collections, Throwback and I Love. As a result, Throwback has now become the UK’s second most popular compilation brand - after only Now  – whilst all four I Love albums have been certified gold.

Naz Idelji said: "This is an absolute honour. I am literally taking on my dream job and to be working for an inspirational female leader like Nicola, who believes and supports creativity and originality, is the icing on the cake. There will be plenty of challenges this year but I believe that great products will always stand out in any market. We have an incredible team of curators and creatives as well as a brilliant support system around us at Sony Music – and so I look forward to a very exciting future.”

Nicola Tuer said: “Naz is one of the true rising stars in the industry  – so I am totally thrilled at her new role. She has a track record of achievement for launching and delivering clever, innovative compilation brands. She is smart, insightful and, undoubtedly, the premier executive in this area of the music industry. She is in a different class. I know she will be a huge success.”
