The tracklisting comprises the original Dylan recordings of songs selected by writer/director Conor McPherson for his play of the same name, in which reinterpretations of those songs are woven into the action. The compilation spans almost five decades of Bob Dylan’s remarkable career, from 1963 sophomore album ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan’ (“Girl From The North Country”) through to 2012’s ‘Tempest’ (“Duquesne Whistle”) and music from all phases of Dylan’s prodigious output. It includes a number of his perennial favourites as well as deeper catalogue cuts from his iconic songbook. ‘The Music Which Inspired Girl From The North Country’ is available to pre-order now on Amazon and iTunes. The compilation follows the release of the Original London Cast Recording of ‘Girl From The North Country’, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and available now on CD and vinyl. Girl From The North Country is a new play by Conor McPherson. Following a sell-out, critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic starting in July 2017, it transfers to London’s West End at the Noël Coward Theatre from 29th December.
