THE VACCINES RELEASE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE I CAN’T QUIT

FOURTH ALBUM COMBAT SPORTS RELEASED ON 30TH MARCH 2018

2018 HEADLINE TOUR ALSO ANNOUNCED AND SELLING OUT FAST

Today, The Vaccines release the video for their brand new single I Can’t Quit. Taken from the bands forthcoming highly anticipated fourth album Combat Sports, released on March 30 on Columbia Records.

The video was filmed in Sardinia where the band picked up some unexpected local press.

The Vaccines said, “the song is really simple, confident and fun and we wanted our role in the video to reflect that. but we also wanted the video to represent these vicious cycles that we often get ourselves into but have no control over - they can feel confusing, isolating and violent. and we liked the idea of juxtaposing that energy and emotion with beautiful exteriors and a warm environment. i think its easy to forget sometimes that bad things can happen in beautiful places.”

Daniel Brereton who directed the video for I Can’t Quit and who has been working closely with the band on the overall vision for Combat Sports, said: “We wanted to make something immediate and direct, and not overly conceptual. Justin had this starting point of the band as a gang, walking through a decadent, historic place with some dogs. We then started to develop the idea and include a story that hints at some kind of event, but what that is is unclear. I wanted the audience to be involved in the video, to do some of their own investigating and speculating. These days the life of a video carries on within the comments on social media and video channels, and I like the idea that there could be discussions going on as to what happened in the video long after it is made.”

I Can’t Quit is currently playlisted on Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Virgin Radio. The band visited Annie Mac last night to play an extra special live session which you can listen to HERE.

The Vaccines return to their roots with Combat Sports; ranging from pure Vaccines rock and roll through to powerpop. It is a combination that has never failed them in the past, as demonstrated by 15 consecutive A-listed singles at Radio 1, performing on Later…with Jools Holland on four separate occasions and headlining a career affirming show at London’s 02 Arena, all alongside pulling some of the biggest crowds across the summer festival circuits over the years. They have also earned BRIT Award nominations for Best Live Act and Best New Artist, a Q Award nomination for Best New Band and won an NME Award for Best New Band.

The band have also announced a 9 date UK tour kicking off in Bristol on the 3rd April 2018 ending on the 14th April at London’s infamous Alexandra Palace. For tickets please visit http://www.thevaccines.com/tour.
