PSYCHIC ILLS: UK tour starts today! Sold out London show this Thursday

Tres Warren & Elizabeth Hart bring their understated, intoxicating psych-rock to the UK for the final time this year.

“On Inner Journey Out, the group’s obscure artistry is put under a microscope, and they sound more alert than ever – crisp chords and vocals that dig deep… On an evolutionary plane of its own from start to finish.” – HERO

Some subtle new territory for the New York duo… Tres Warren’s voice is laconic and liberating, half-interested and entirely present all at the same time.” - Noisey

“Often irresistible, a perfect match of tone and tunefulness.” – Q

“Wonderful morphine blues from drone-laced New Yorkers…A terrific laidback, sleep headed dose of minor key psychedelia” – UNCUT

“Playing like they’ve just OD’d and are conjouring the audience in a pre-death neural circus, they slide a glorious fraction out in the jammed sections, keeping the rest ticking over in the mode of distilled, hi-fidelity understatement they’ve honed” - Loud & Quiet

New York duo Psychic Ills round off 2016 with a UK tour, starting in Leeds tonight & finishing with their third sold out London show of 2016 at Moth Club on Thursday.

Psychic Ills released their beautifully understated & intoxicating album Inner Journey Out earlier this year via Sacred Bones Records; an album which saw them deftly traversing the psych-rock landscape they’ve carved throughout their career and taking inspired pilgrimages into country, blues, gospel, and jazz.

On Inner Journey Out, Psychic Ills’ Tres Warren & Elizabeth Hart are joined by a cadre of musicians and vocalists, including Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval, who duets on lead single “I Don’t Mind” and touring keyboard player Brent Cordero, whose Farfisa and Wurlitzer work is a staple throughout. An endless array of friends and guests join the proceedings to provide percussion, pedal steel guitar, horns, strings, and backing vocals, which culminate in a career-defining moment for the Ills.

Psychic Ills also recently shared a two-part film for stand-out tracks “Baby” and Another Change. Directed by NY based film-maker Jason Evans, they were shot around New York and at Cowtown Rodeo in New Jersey and form a portrait of a young man longing for something he can connect with, a desire that becomes clear by the end of the second film.

Psychic Ills’ new album Inner Journey Out is out now via Sacred Bones Records on 2xLP/ CD, available from the Sacred Bones web site and Bandcamp / iTunes.
