Susan Boyle is touched by the lyrics to Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence'

Susan Boyle announced that she has covered Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence' on her forthcoming album, 'Someone To Watch Over Me' but she has since revealed how the lyrics make her feel.

The song was originally released in 1990 and the lines "Words are very unnecessary/ They can only do harm" have struck a chord with the Scottish singer.

She told The Rolling Stone that those lyrics spoke to her:

"The melody of the song is just beautiful but really that lyric sounds like it will touch so many people in the way it touched me."

'Someone To Watch Over Me' is to be released on November 1 and it will include covers of Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now' and Tears For Fears' 'Mad World'.

Check out Depeche Mode's version of 'Enjoy The Silence' and Susan Boyle performing the album track, 'You Have To Be There':

Syco/Columbia Records Announce the Release of Someone To Watch Over Me, the Highly Anticipated Third Album from the Top Selling International Artist Susan Boyle

NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2011 -- Syco/Columbia Records recording star Susan Boyle--who catapulted to international stardom overnight, sold 14 million albums in 14 months and smashed music records around the world--will be releasing her third album, Someone To Watch Over Me, on Tuesday, November 1.

For Someone To Watch Over Me, Boyle reunited with well-known British songwriter/record producer Steve Mac, who produced her second album, The Gift. Together they have created a sensational and contemporary album that will span the generations.

In her now-trademark style, Boyle gives her interpretations to pop classics once again on her new album. For Someone To Watch Over Me, Susan fearlessly takes on iconic songs such as "Unchained Melody" and "Both Sides Now," giving them a new identity. And, of course, there is her rendering of the title cut, a George and Ira Gershwin song that was written in the 1920s but sounds contemporary when sung by Boyle.

The album also includes original material: "This Will Be The Year" by Emeli Sande and Naughty Boy with Josh Kear and "Return" by Steve Mac and Wayne Hector.

Boyle says her song choices for the album were influenced by fans who related to her own life story and have shared their histories with her. "There are certain songs that I liked that resonated with the letters that people had written and sent to me," she said. "I knew that's what my record needed to be about. They wrote about grief, love, happy and sad times; it was all deeply moving and the songs I selected mirror their emotions and life experiences."

Boyle amassed her huge fan base after she sang a single song ("I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables) on "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009; within 24 hours, her performance was being watched by millions on YouTube, and then millions more on American network news programs that picked up on her remarkable Cinderella story.

I Dreamed a Dream remains the UK's best-selling debut album of all time, and sold more than 700,000 copies in the first week of release in the U.S. To date, her two albums have sold over 14 million copies and reached Number One in over 30 countries.
