Boyle opens up about bullying

'Britain’s Got Talent' runner-up Susan Boyle has revealed details of the bullying she suffered as a teenager in Scotland.

Boyle was appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show with a host of other celebrities to raise awareness about bullying when she commented on her own experiences.

She said: “[There was] name calling, burning my clothes with a cigarette and trying to trip me up. I was being hit around the head and stuff like that, but the most hurtful was the psychological things.”

She suggested that the bullying shook her confidence:

“It made me feel as if nobody loved me, I didn’t really matter [and] I was just a target. Once you give bullies the power, then they’ve got hold of you.”
