Take That to switch on London Christmas lights

Take That have been confirmed to switch on London's Regent Street Christmas lights.

The English trio will be present at the switching on event on Sunday (November 16).

The ceremony will be themed in honour of the upcoming film Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.

The group commented: "Turning on the Christmas lights in London is like the starter gun for the main event. It's the official start to the party season. We're really looking forward to flicking the switch on the Regent Street lights next Sunday."

The pop group won't be performing at the event, with that honour instead going to Union J, Jessie Ware and Britain's Got Talent's Jack Pack.

Jamie Theakston and Spice Girl Emma Bunton will host the ceremony.

Take That meanwhile will release new album 'III' on December 1.
