Take That break Amazon UK pre-order record

Take That's upcoming album has become the most pre-ordered album ever on Amazon UK.

The pop trio are due to unleash 'III' on December 1 and it is already been selling like hotcakes online.

Retailer Amazon have now confirmed that the record has usurped Pink Floyd's recent new album 'The Endless River' at the top of their all-time pre-order list.

At No.3 on the list of Amazon UK's most pre-ordered albums ever meanwhile is One Direction's 2013 effort 'Midnight Memories'.

Director of Amazon EU digital music Steve Bernstein commented: "The competition is heating up as Olly Murs, One Direction and Take That, to name a few, battle for the Christmas No.1 spot. It's an exciting twist to see that only a few days before release Take That have swept in and taken the top spot on Amazon pre-orders.

"We'll all be eagerly anticipating who comes out on top, but it's great to see such a much-loved UK band continue with such success."

The top ten most pre-ordered albums on Amazon UK meanwhile are as follows:

  • 1. Take That – III
  • 2. Pink Floyd – The Endless River
  • 3. One Direction – Midnight Memories 
  • 4. Robbie Williams – Swings Both Ways
  • 5. Take That – Progress
  • 6. Susan Boyle – I Dreamed a Dream
  • 7. Coldplay – Ghost Stories
  • 8. David Bowie – The Next Day
  • 9. Coldplay – X&Y
  • 10. Take That – The Circus
