Take That trapped by giant robot on tour

Take That encountered a few technical difficulties over the weekend during a performance at the City of Manchester stadium.

June 4 saw the veteran boy band put on a fantastic show to an impressive crowd at the venue, but the band's 60ft mechanical robot, named Om, stopped working during 'Love Love' and caused Mark Owen and Howard Donald to be stuck above the audience.

Owen was rescued by ladders, but Donald remained trapped for the duration of the next song, 'Never Forget'. A statement from the group explained the situation:

"The mechanical man did stop in motion at the end of Love Love but the matter was resolved and by the end of the show he was standing tall again."

"There is no guarantee that with a mechanical structure the size of Om, there will be no recurrence at some point but all seems fine now."
