Taylor Swift on newly announced VMAs performance: 'We're planning it and we're planning it!'

Country pop superstar Taylor Swift has just announced that she will be performing a brand new song at the forthcoming MTV VMAs in Los Angeles on August 24.

When asked if it will be a simple or elaborate performance by Jimmy Fallon during last night's interview, Swift remained tight lipped and was careful not to reveal any specific details: "I... you know... We’re planning it … and we’re planning it."

The songstress also spoke briefly about her upcoming Yahoo! livestream event and explained that it will be easy for fans to access and is due to take place on Monday, August 18 at 5pm ET: "Theoretically, you would go on Yahoo! and you would push play on the live stream. It would be streaming live … that’s exactly how that would work. In general, you can stream anything these days.”

Swift, meanwhile, recently landed an acting role in new movie 'The Giver' and told WENN that it was a dream to work with Jeff Bridges: "It was unbelievable to even think I would have the opportunity to work with Jeff. It's just an unbelievable concept that I would get to do this. It's sort of this dream scenario where I get to have a very small role that has a pivotal part of the story but isn't jumping into too deep water."
