Taylor Swift on '1989': 'It's about the phase after a break-up where you brush yourself off'

Earlier this week, superstar Taylor Swift announced that she will be releasing a brand new record, entitled '1989', in October and she has now revealed that it won't be about love or break-ups.

During a new interview with Fusion, the songstress confessed that her forthcoming new album won't be so focused on relationships and heartbreak because she got all of that out while she was writing her latest offering, 'Red':

"['Red'] was a devastating record. It was about dealing with an intense heartbreak." Speaking about '1989', she explained that it is about “the phase after that where you brush yourself off and you’re okay... [Writing 'Red'] I was very enamoured by romance and the idea of that."

She went onto add that this new phase in her life is very much about her friends and enjoying spending time in her own company:

“At this point, I just want to be with my friends and I want to make music and I want to play shows. I want travel the world and I want to define my life on my own terms. That’s my list of priorities now, which is different than it was a couple of years ago."
