A picture of Taylor Swift carrying her cute kitten Olivia Benson has been shared online recently (shown left) and she has now shed a little light on why she was out in public holding the feline.

Speaking to E! Online about her adorable new Scottish Fold kitten, the superstar admitted that she would get so freaked out by the cat carrier that the best solution was to go more hands-on and walk around holding her when she needs to go somewhere:

"The kitten freaks out about being put in the cat carrier. So I was just like, 'OK, all right, we're gonna just do this!' It was like a 10 foot walk from my door to the car! What I thought was funny about those pictures is that, like, the cat is looking straight at the cameras!"

The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker, meanwhile, spoke out about moving to New York earlier this month and admitted that it was a bold thing for her to do as she initially didn't think she was strong enough to 'make it' there:

"I was so intimidated by this city for so long. It's so big, with so many people. I thought I would never be able to make it here, because I wasn't something enough — bold enough, brave enough to take on this huge city in all of its blaring honesty. And then at a certain point I just thought, 'I'm ready.'"
