Taylor Swift confirmed for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session

'Shake It Off' superstar Taylor Swift has been announced as this coming Thursday's (October 9) BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session performer.

She will be in London for a special Capital FM challenge at The Shard later this week and has been able to find time to agree to play a special set for the well-loved Live Lounge although her choice of cover song will remain under wraps until the time comes.

BBC Radio 1 confirmed the exciting news this morning and shared a tweet about it, which Swift then sent out to her own followers on the social networking site: "We can now reveal that @taylorswift13 will be in the Live Lounge for us on Thursday! Are you excited?"

Yesterday, the country-pop sensation uploaded a picture of herself to Instagram (shown above left) and captioned it with: "On the way to the airport at 7am, bright eyed and ready to take on the next adventure! .......nope."

Swift, meanwhile, was also recently announced as a guest mentor for the current season of 'The Voice' in the USA and her appearance will fall on October 27, which is the same day her new album '1989' is due to be released.
