Taylor Swift on famous friends: 'They like me for who I am and understand my lifestyle'

'Shake It Off' hitmaker Taylor Swift has revealed that she likes having friends who are as famous as she is because they understand what she has to deal with on a daily basis without having to explain it to them.

Speaking to People magazine recently, the beauty explained that they also like her for who she is because they have nothing to gain from her celebrity as they have their own:

"They are so fun and know me and like me for who I actually am. It's really wonderful to have someone like Lena Dunham in my life."

She went onto add: "We have the same responsibility and the same pressure that's on you when you write every single word you end up performing."

Earlier today (October 9), Swift told BBC Radio 1 that coping with overexcited fans is fun although it can be a little stressful if they have intense reactions to meeting her:

'I'm cool, as long as it doesn't seem there's a medical issue at hand. Sometimes I have to check, 'OK, your hands are shaking. Is this you being excited or do I need to call an ambulance?' Like, sometimes it crosses over to, 'Is this how you get excited or are you having some sort of fit?'"
