Taylor Swift 'watching closely' as UK fans begrudge iTunes release strategy

Taylor Swift says she is keeping an eye on her iTunes release strategy as her UK fans continue to wait for her new song.

The 'Red' star unleashed the track 'Out of the Woods' on the digital music platform on Tuesday (October 14) to fans in the US.

However, the tune hasn't been released in the UK yet - leading some fans to express their disappointment.

Writing in a post published on her Tumblr, Swift said on Tuesday that she is keeping a close watch of how the release strategy pans out in the UK.

She said: "To all my wonderful UK fans - I realise that you are not yet able to get ‘Out Of The Woods’ due to a new strategy my record label is working on in the UK.  I’ve never been one to hold my music back from any of you so I will be watching closely to see if this is ultimately a better experience for you, the fans.

"My good friend Ed Sheeran utilised the same strategy with ‘One’ in the UK and he seemed very happy with the feedback from his fans. But, ultimately, it’s down to you. Let me know."

'Out of the Woods' will feature on Swift's new album '1989', which will be released on October 27.
