Taylor Swift gets death threats: 'I don't want to live my life feeling scared'

'Shake It Off' beauty Taylor Swift has revealed that while most aspects of her career and fame are great, she really doesn't like getting death threats and being stalked by complete strangers.

Speaking to Esquire magazine about her safety concerns, the star admitted that she's very worried about being alone because of the threats that have plagued her over the years, which have resulted in men following her home and chasing her cars:

"This is the strange and sad part of my life that I try not to think about. I try to be light-hearted about it, because I don't ever want to be scared. I don't want to be walking down the street scared. And when I have security, I don't have to be scared."

Swift went onto add that she eventually had to cave in and hire a security team because living a normal life is something that's so important to her:

"I fought the idea of having security for a very long time, because I really value normalcy. I like to be able to take a drive by myself. Haven't done that in six years. They have to be in a car behind me. Because just the sheer number of men we have in a file who have showed up at my house, showed up at my mum's house, threatened to either kill me, kidnap me, or marry me."
