Taylor Swift's new album expected to sell nearly 1m copies in US in first week

Taylor Swift's upcoming new album is expected to sell almost one million copies in its first week in the US.

The singer is releasing new effort '1989' on Monday (October 27) and it is a sure-fire bet to top charts worldwide.

Billboard have reported that her US sales predictions have been upgraded in recent days.

Swift is now estimated to sell 800,000 and 900,000 units in its first week - a rise from her previous forecast of 750,000.

This means that '1989' would be the highest-selling chart-topper in the US since Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience', which shifted 968,000 copies in its first week in 2013.

However, Swift's last two albums - 2012's 'Red' and 2010's 'Speak Now' - both sold over a million in their first weeks (1.21m and 1.05m respectively).
