Taylor Swift reveals her goals for '1989'

'Shake It Off' superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that her main aim for new album '1989' is to tell a true story that her fans will be able to relate to.

During this morning's takeover with On Air with Ryan, the beauty explained that apart from wanting to write catchy songs, she intended to create an album that would reflect her life and the truth about her every day existence:

"That was a huge goal for this album, [which] was to make songs that were instantly catchy. [And] also have meaning behind them. But I really wanted these songs to really kind of bounce out of the speakers … For my own albums, it’s all autobiographical because I think it’s much more interesting for me to tell a true story than a story I kind of conjured up."

Swift went onto add that this new album is very different to 'Red', but she embraced her desire to change her sound and fully committed to it:

“I saw a lot of changes happening and [my] music was evolving over the two-year period. So a lot of the newer stuff ended up making the album because it was completely different from 'Red'. I knew that nothing that made the album '1989' should’ve fit on 'Red'. I’d say to myself, ‘Ok, this a great song that I’ve written, I’m proud of it, but would it have cohesively fit on 'Red'?’ And if the answer is yes, then it didn’t make the album.”
