Taylor Swift's recent single 'Shake It Off' has gone 4x platinum in the US.

The singer released the song in August as the first track from new album '1989'.

The RIAA have now confirmed that the tune has gone 4x platinum in the States.

They commented: "Quadruple Platinum Congratulations to Taylor Swift! #ShakeItOff is RIAA 4X multi-Platinum!"

The single also achieved sizeable success across the globe, including in the UK.

It has now been followed up by the track 'Blank Space'.
