Taylor Swift: 'The opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life'

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that she dresses with her female friends in mind because she really values the support and admiration of other women, and doesn't care so much about what men think of her.

Speaking to ASOS in a new interview about her sense of style, the 'Shake It Off' beauty explained that she never puts together an outfit based on how it might appeal to a guy and is more concerned what girls will make of her fashion sense:

"When I’m getting dressed, it’s always based on what my friends will think. They are my number one priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life."

The superstar, meanwhile, recently admitted that she's feeling very inspired by the 1980s and credits the decade with giving her the confidence to mix up her look: "I think there was a freedom to the clothes then and I see how that era had inspired modern fashion trends. So I'm wearing shorter skirts and things I would never have worn three years ago."

The full interview is due to go live on ASOS.com tomorrow, November 26.
