Taylor Swift on friends: 'A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with cling-ons who don't have much of a job or a passion'

'Shake It Off' hitmaker Taylor Swift has opened up about the friends she has around her at the moment and revealed that she looks for people who are motivated and empowered.

Speaking to ASOS in a new interview, which will be released on the company's site tomorrow (November 26), the beauty explained that when you're famous you tend to attract people who are only being nice for the celebrity perks and she wants to keep clear of that where possible:

"My friends are the kind of people that have their own lives, and their own busy schedules, and that's why we get along so well. A lot of 'celebrities' surround themselves with these very chic cling-ons who don't really have much of a job or a passion, they follow around their celebrity BFF and provide constant affirmation for them and I'm really not interested in that kind of deal."

In the same interview, Swift spoke about her fashion sense and confessed that she doesn't dress for the gaze of men: "When I’m getting dressed, it’s always based on what my friends will think. They are my number one priority and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life."
