Taylor Swift thinks her 'moments of humiliation' have made her more successful

Taylor Swift reckons her personal songwriting has made her music more popular.

The musician is currently one of the biggest names in the industry and she has developed a reputation over the years for penning tunes about failed romance.

Speaking to ASOS, the US star said that she feels her heartfelt lyrics can resonate with the greater public - meaning that her music is mode easily consumed.

Swift said: "The songs I've written about my moments of humiliation, embarrassment or devastation have gotten me the greatest sense of clarity.

"If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige, maybe the stadiums wouldn't be so full and the mantle would be a little more empty."

Taylor Swift meanwhile recently released her latest album '1989', with the record topping charts worldwide.
