Taylor Swift is in the running for this year's TIME Person of the Year honour.

The singer will fight against seven other people for the coveted award, which last year went to Pope Francis.

Other nominees for the prize include Apple's Tim Cook, Ebola caregivers, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the protestors in Ferguson.

They are joined by Vladimir Putin, politician Masoud Barzani and Alibaba Group CEO Jack Ma on the list.

Swift meanwhile has enjoyed a huge 2014, from completing her massive Red tour earlier in the year to unleashing latest record '1989' in October.
