Taylor Swift asks the world's media for a birthday present

'Shake It Off' songstress Taylor Swift has revealed that as a 25th birthday present, she would love for the ridiculous rumours about her love life to stop.

The star will celebrate the occasion on December 13 and took to her official Twitter page this morning to ask the very reasonable and fair favour

"As my 25th birthday present from the media, I'd like for you to stop accusing all my friends of dating me. #thirsty."

Just before the weekend, a photograph supposedly of Taylor Swift and model friend Karlie Kloss surfaced, in which the pair appeared to be kissing at a 1975 concert, and the Internet quickly lit up with reports of a blossoming romance.

Swift, meanwhile, is in the running for this year's TIME Person of the Year honour and will go head-to-head with the likes of Apple's Tim Cook, Ebola caregivers, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, the protestors in Ferguson, Vladimir Putin, politician Masoud Barzani, and Alibaba Group CEO Jack Ma for the title.
