Today sees Taylor Swift celebrating her 25th birthday (December 13).

The ‘Blank Space’ star received a special rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ from soul legend Aretha Franklin when the pair both attended last night’s Billboard Women in Music event (see video below).

Whilst Aretha’s musical serenade came on the eve of Taylor’s birthday, Swift celebrated turning 25 whilst headlining iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Taylor told the 18,000 strong crowd: “I think I've officially celebrated my birthday with you tonight.  I'm 25-years-old New York City.”

During the course of her live set, which included hits such as ‘Shake It Off’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’, Swift asked her audience for a gift:

“As my birthday present, every time I turn the mic to you, scream louder than any concert you've ever experienced.”

Following her performance Taylor took to Instagram to post a picture of herself alongside the likes of Jay Z, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith, Haim, and model Karlie Kloss with the caption “#bestbirthdayEVER” (see image below).
