Taylor Swift says she uploaded a photo of herself and Haim wearing bikinis in an effort to get one over on the paparazzi.

The singer posted image of herself and the US group online in January on a boat wearing little clothing.

It has been liked over 1.6 million times on Instagram - but Swift told BBC Radio 1 this morning (February 24) that she uploaded it to get one back at lurking paparazzi.

She said: "We weren't going to put any pictures online. But then we were whale watching and my security spotted a pap with a long lens.

"And I was so mad because I didn't want someone to get like £100,000 for a shot of me in a bikini. So we did a photoshoot and posted our own pictures."

Swift appeared on Radio 1's Breakfast Show alongside guest co-host Ed Sheeran.
