Taylor Swift fans fold '1989' paper cranes for the star's cancer stricken mother

Two young Taylor Swift fans recently spent three months folding paper cranes after learning of the Japanese legend that suggests you get one wish if you make 1,000 and they have now revealed that they changed their wish after learning of Swift's mother's cancer diagnosis.

Sisters Sam and Jo Brady, aged 11 and 8, created a video message for the 'Style' sensation and explained that initially they were going to wish for '1989' concert tickets, but after finding out that Swift's mother Angela was unwell they decided to dedicate their hope to her recovery. In the video, the girls explain that Angela's health is more important to them than attending Swift's upcoming tour:

"There's a Japanese legend that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes, you get one wish. For the past three months, we've been folding 1989 paper cranes for '1989' paper cranes. First we were going to wish for tickets to your concert, but when we heard that your mom was diagnosed with cancer, we thought we should probably wish for her to get better and to kick cancer's butt."

At the beginning of April, Swift shared a post on Twitter about her mother's surprise diagnosis and explained to her followers that she didn't expect the health screening to come back with anything, let alone the confirmation of cancer:

"For Christmas this year, I asked my mom that one of her gifts to me be her going to the doctor to get screened for any health issues, just to ease some worries of mine. She agreed, and went in to get checked. There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it. The results came in, and I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer."
