Taylor Swift kicks off 1989 tour and tells fans: 'We have so much in common'

Superstar Taylor Swift kicked off her '1989' world tour with a concert in Japan today and was very chatty with her audience at the Tokyo Dome.

Speaking to the 55,000 strong crowd, the 'Out Of The Woods' beauty explained the inspiration behind her latest album and admitted that love is constant influence on her songwriting: "For this album I was a 25-year-old girl, single, writing about love from the outside looking in. I learned a lot about love from…watching movies! Eighties teen movies like 'Sixteen Candles'."

Later on in the concert, she added: "A lot of people find themselves with these blurred lines or mixed messages, not knowing if the person loves them back. In a perfect world it's like you tell your love simply. You only have two options…either you leave…or you stay."

Swift then opened up about the fact that her music is so relatable and said: "There are 55,000 people here tonight and I can only assume that some of you have gone through hard times. I can only assume that some of you turned to music at those times, like I have. So we have that in common."
