Taylor Swift: 'People have a misconstrued perception of me'

Superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that people still don't really know who she is thanks to the sensational and ridiculous articles that are regularly published about her.

During an interview with ELLE magazine, she confessed that constantly reading mean or critical headlines about herself is tough especially when she knows how different the truth is from what the press likes to report:

"I'd been in this media hailstorm of people having a very misconstrued perception of who I was. There were really insensitive jokes being made at awards shows by hosts; there were snarky headlines in the press—'Taylor Goes Through a Breakup: Well, That Was Swift!'—focusing on all the wrong things."

The beauty went onto add that she finished writing '1989' with the songs 'Shake It Off' and 'Clean', so she ended the project in a fantastic and positive headspace: "'Shake It Off' and 'Clean' were the last two things we wrote for the record, so it shows you where I ended up mentally. The first thought that came to my mind was, I'm finally clean."
