Taylor Swift: 'I've had time to mentally prepare for this kind of pressure'

Taylor Swift has reflected on her rise to global stardom.

The singer's stock has swelled over the last few years, with 2014 album '1989' cementing her place as one of the world's top music stars.

Speaking in a new interview with Good Morning Britain's Dan Wootton, Swift said that the length of her career - which started with her 2006 self-titled album - has allowed to "prepare" for true stardom.

She said: "I feel very lucky that I've had time to emotionally and mentally prepare for this kind of pressure and this kind of pace, and tour schedule and promotion and all that.

"Because some artists really are shot out of a cannon and last month, you were playing in a club and now you're playing in an arena or the Grammys.

"I had a little bit more time. But it's crazy with this album - it feels really wonderful to have my fifth album feel like my breakthrough album. It's very odd, and not something I was really prepared for. But I will take it gladly."
