Taylor Swift on Apple Music letter: 'I didn’t really expect anything to happen'

Taylor Swift admits she wasn't expecting her recent letter about Apple Music royalties to have any impact.

The singer penned an open letter to the company to criticise their policy of not paying out royalties on songs listened to during users' three-month free trials.

Streaming service Apple Music later backtracked and confirmed that it would pay out.

Speaking in a new interview with Q, Swift admitted that she wrote the message in hope rather than expectation.

The US star said: "I had no idea what would happen but I just wanted to say something.

“I didn’t really expect anything to happen at all."
