Taylor Swift had paid tribute to Lorde on her 20th birthday, revealing that her life is "more beautiful" since she met the New Zealander.

The 'Royals' star celebrated her birthday on Monday (November 7) and it seems she spent the day in some esteemed company, with photos revealing she hung out with the likes of Swift and Lena Dunham.

Swift took to Instagram to honour Lorde and her songwriting skills, as well as her personality. She said:

"Thank you for the music you make, the advice you give, the thoughts you provoke, and the way you've made my life more beautiful since the first day we met up in New York and ate burgers on a park bench and got attacked by squirrels. I. Love. You. So. Much. Ella. @lordemusic."

Dunham added on Instagram: "Happy 20th bday to my friend who is both 8 & 88. Tried to get her still but all she wants to do is dance. All the love @lordemusic."
