Taylor Swift crowned the top-earning music star of 2011 by Billboard

Taylor Swift has been named the top earning musician of 2011 by Billboard in its annual 'Money Makers' list.

The 'You Belong To Me' megastar finished at No.1 in the 2012 poll, which covers the past 12 months, with a reported income of over $35,719,902 generated from her 'Speak Now' world tour, sales of her album of the same name and earnings from merchandise items.

Billboard.com explained that Swift's phenomenal international tour grossed "$88.5 million in the U.S. alone, which netted Swift a remarkable $29.8 million".

Lady Gaga came in at No.4 with $25,353,039, rap heavyweight Lil Wayne was named as the fifth highest-earning music star of 2011 with $23,178,722 and Adele, who was forced to axe a considerable amount of live dates last year, finished 10th with $13,081,909.
