Taylor Swift announces new album 'Red' and single release

Taylor Swift has announced plans to release her next album, which will be called 'Red'.

The pop singer recently teased fans about a big piece of news she was set to unveil in a webchat yesterday (August 13).

She announced that she will be releasing her new album 'Red' on October 22, with the record preceded by its first single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', which she premiered on the webchat.

Speaking about why she called the album 'Red', Swift said:

"They're all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I've experienced in the last two years. All those emotions spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that, in my mind all those emotions are red. There's nothing in between. There's nothing beige about any of those feelings."

The 'Love Story' singer also confirmed that the album will feature a duet with British star Ed Sheeran. Listen to Taylor Swift's new single 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' below:
