Taylor Swift: 'My parents never had any desire for me to do music'

Taylor Swift has revealed that her parents never had a desire for her to do music.

The US country star, who aged 14 convinced her mum and dad to move from Pennsylvania to Nashville in order to pursue her career, told Company magazine that she initially had to beg her parents for their support:

"I was just constant, non-stop annoying, perpetually bringing it up. My parents saw that I was so obsessed, that I wasn't going to drop it, that it wasn't some adolescent phase.

"My parents were thrown into this - they never had any desire for me to do music."

But the 22-year-old, who releases new album, 'Red,' later this month, then revealed how her parents now act as her advisers, adding:

"My mom has a great marketing mind - she always has a good gut instinct on things." Watch the video for 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' below:
