Taylor Swift plays game to reveal which ex-boyfriend her hit single is about

Songstress Taylor Swift appeared on The Ellen Show as a guest earlier this week to promote her brand new album, 'Red', and she played a game which caused her to 'question what she stands for as a human being'.

Speculation about who her song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' has grown since the track's release and Ellen DeGeneres created an interactive experience that she hoped would reveal the ex-boyfriend in question.

The TV host presented an anxious Swift with a handbell and told her to ring it when the correct guy appeared on the screen she was told to look at. Swift wasn't overly excited at the thought of unmasking the former lover and said: "I dont't know if I’m gonna do this… this is the one thing that I have… this is the one shred of dignity that I have!"

DeGeneres tried to convince her otherwise and joked: "What do you mean the one shred of dignity? You’re filled with dignity!"

Photographs of the superstar with different men flashed on the screen, including images of her with John Mayer and Joe Jonas, but she refused to play along and declared that the game made her feel terrible:

"This makes me feel so bad about myself. Every time I come up here you put a different dude up on the screen. It just makes me really question what I stand for as a human being. There's never been two guys on the screen two visits in a row. It's sad." Watch the clip in full below:
