Taylor Swift scores first UK number one album with 'Red'

Taylor Swift has today scored her first UK number one album with ‘Red.’

The US country star’s fourth studio album comfortably outsold a repackaged edition of Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events’ to debut at the top spot, peaking four places higher than her previous best, 2008’s ‘Fearless.’

Last week’s number one, Jake Bugg’s self-titled effort dropped to No.3, Lawson's 'Chapman Square' entered at No.4, while Mumford & Sons’ ‘Babel’ slipped to No.5.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Dappy’s 'Bad Intentions,' Daniel O'Donnell's 'Songs From The Movies & More,' Stone Sour’s 'House of Gold & Bones Part 1,' Kendrick Lamar's 'Good Kid M.A.A.D. City,' Kate Rusby's '20,' Steve Hackett’s 'Genesis Revisited II,' and The Lumineers’ eponymous debut. Watch the video for Taylor Swift's 'Begin Again' below:
