'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty Taylor Swift has confessed that writing songs about heartbreak is one of her favourite things to do.

Speaking to 'Coffee Break', the superstar explained that lost love is a great thing to write about and that there is something 'beautiful' about people with broken hearts:

"Heartbroken; I think when you're heartbroken you need music more than when you're not. There's something so beautiful about people who are heartbroken; they think about things much more."

"When you're in love and you're happy you don't need to think; it's just there. Love is one of those things that's so simple, you only need to think about it when it's bad. When you write a song about what you're thinking... there's such a gratification and it helps you move on."

Swift also revealed that after her momentous win at this year's Billboard Music Awards, where she won 8 prizes, she celebrated with a quiet dinner out: "It was such an amazing night it was so fun; to win eight in one night was crazy. We went for dinner at Nobu. I'm liking sushi more as I get older, but I just love Nobu, they have the best menu. I had interviews the next day so... no [I didn't party]."
