Taylor Swift opens $4 million education centre

Taylor Swift attended the opening ceremony of her own education centre in Nashville yesterday (October 12).

The ‘Taylor Swift Education Center’ is part of the 'Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum' in Music City.

The ‘Trouble’ singer announced she would be donating $4 million to fund the project back in May 2012.

Having cut the red ribbon to open the new facility, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter told reporters:

“I'm really excited about this music education centre and the fact that right now they have three different classes going on today. It's really exciting that we can be here on a day when they're not only unveiling it, but they're starting to actively use it today.”

Swift also contemplated her future participation with the project as she explained:

“We've been talking about different programs I can be involved in. I hate to call it a lecture because that sounds like I'm yelling at people, but we could do a Q&A talking to students here and a songwriters discussion would be really fun to have at some point.”

Taylor Swift is due to collect a record-breaking sixth award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International today (October 13). Watch footage of Taylor Swift at the opening ceremony below:
