Taylor Swift on her latest acting role: "It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life"

Taylor Swift has been discussing her latest acting role in the film ‘The Giver’.

The country-pop singer has previously taken on roles in the romantic comedy ‘Valentine’s Day’ and made an appearance in the television series ‘New Girl’.

Swift stars alongside Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges in the film adaptation of Lois Lowry's 1993 novel ‘The Giver’.

Speaking to Access Hollywood about her experience on set, Swift said:

“I couldn't believe it was happening to me. I still can't believe I shot in South Africa and shot all my scenes with Jeff Bridges. It was unreal.”

She continued to gush:

“Seriously, I couldn't believe I got to be a part of the experience. And I just tried to work as hard as I could and just throw myself into that environment as much as I possibly could and it was really long hours and it was a lot of preparation and getting into character and all that. But it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Honestly.”

The ‘Trouble’ singer also revealed how important the experience was in improving her acting skills as she explained:

“You learn so much more, because I have taken acting classes and read as much as I possibly can on it and done theater before all this started, [but] you learn more by actually doing it than you could ever learn in preparation.”

‘The Giver’ is set to be released in the US in August 2014. Watch a recent interview with Taylor Swift below:
